NFC’s Mert Özyildirim, Max Coga to co-headline BRAVE CF’s first event in Bonn, Germany


The next BRAVE Combat Federation event will be held in Bonn, Germany on August 6, 2022 in association with the National Fighting Championship, which is headquartered in Krefeld, Germany. It marks the first time Germany is hosting an event of BRAVE CF, which is based in Bahrain.

In the co-main event of the evening, NFC World Featherweight Champion Mert Özyildirim, 28, of Balingen, Germany will defend his title against Max “Mad Max” Coga, 32, of Frankfurt, Germany. The latter is a former champion in the division.


Never before has a featherweight champion in NFC managed to defend his title two times in a row. On December 18, 2021, Coga lost the title to Jarno Errens, 27, of Heerlen, Netherlands via knockout via punches at “NFC 7” in Dusseldorf, Germany.

On April 2, 2022, Errens lost the title to Özyildirim via unanimous decision at “NFC 8” in Dusseldorf. It was a rematch between the two mixed martial artists.

On July 25, 2021, Özyildirim made his “NFC 4” in Bonn. He lost via unanimous decision to Errens.


Currently, Özyildirim holds a professional MMA record of 10 wins and 3 loses. He trains on the Planet Eater team of Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Peter Sobotta, 35, of Balingen.

On the other hand, Coga has 23 wins and 8 losses. Both he and Özyildirim have 1 win and 1 loss in the NFC.

Coga made his professional MMA debut in 2011. Before joining the NFC, he competed in Respect Fighting Championship, Fair Fighting Championship, M-1 Global, Superior Fighting Championship and Professional Fighters League, among others.
