Simi Valley, California’s Nicholas John Roske arrested near Brett Kavanaugh’s house in Maryland


Brett Kavanaugh, 57, was born in Washington, D.C., United States and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. He lives in Chevy Chase Section Five, Maryland with his wife Ashley Estes, 47, and their two daughters.

Kavanaugh became a White House staff secretary on June 6, 2003 and a judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on May 30, 2006. He has been serving as a U.S. Supreme Court associate justice since October 6, 2018.


At around 1:05 a.m. on June 8, 2022, two U.S. deputy marshals saw Nicholas John Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, California, USA get out of a taxicab in Chevy Chase. He was dressed in black clothing and carrying a backpack and a suitcase and the cab stopped in front of Kavanaugh’s residence.

Upon arriving there, Roske called the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center and told the call taker that he was having suicidal thoughts, he had a firearm in his suitcase and he came from California to kills a specific U.S. Supreme Court justice. Montgomery County Police Department officers were dispatched near Kavanaugh’s residence where they encountered Roske who was still on the phone with the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center.


Zip ties, hiking boots, duct tape, ammunition, screwdriver, nail punch, crow bar, pistol light, pepper spray, a hammer, a black tactical chest rig and a Glock 17 pistol with two magazines were found in Roske’s suitcase and backpack. He was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Police Department’s second district precinct.

Roske told a detective that he was upset about the leak of a recent U.S. Supreme Court draft decision about the right to abortion and the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, USA on May 24, 2022. The Simi Valley resident said he believed Kavanaugh would side with Second Amendment decisions that would loosen gun control laws.

In another interview with a Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent, Roske admitted that he had traveled to Kavanaugh’s residence with the intent to kill the U.S. Supreme justice. The Simi Valley resident has been charged with attempted murder.

Later, Rose appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy Sullivan and consented to remain in custody. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 22, 2022.
