  1. Her father Chase Iron Eyes is an activist, an attorney and a politician. Her mother Dr. Sara Jumping Eagle is an environmental activist and a pediatrician.
  2. She grew up on the Standing Rock reservation in North Dakota, United States.
  3. She attended Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, USA.
  4. In 2013, she started her environmental activism by testifying against a uranium mine in the Black Hills.
  5. In 2016, she and her fellow tribal youth launched the Rezpect Our Water campaign after Energy Transfer Partners announced that it had permits to build the Dakota Access Pipeline through the Missouri River on her tribe’s sacred land and its only water source. She denied her parents’ allegations and said that she was mentally stable.
