Viktoria Apanasenko biography: 13 things about Miss Universe Ukraine 2022

Viktoria Apanasenko (Вікторія Апанасенко) is a Ukrainian model and beauty queen. She is a peace ambassador of the United Nations Global Compact Ukraine.

Born in Chernihiv, Ukraine, Apanasenko attended Chernihiv National Technological University in Chernihiv. She earned her master’s degree in social work from Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv, Ukraine.

2. On September 22, 2015, she and 25 other women competed for the Miss Ukraine 2015 title. She was unplaced.
3. In 2016, she won Princess of Ukraine. In the same year, she started researching the topic of domestic violence.
4. On October 15, 2021, she competed against 14 other candidates at Miss Ukraine Universe 2021 at Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv in Kyiv. She was runner-up to Anna Neplyakh of Dnipro, Ukraine.
5. From February 24, 2022 to April 4, 2022, she was in Kyiv while Chernihiv was under the Russian siege. During this period, she helped her countrymen as a civic volunteer. She also helped the Naïve restaurant in Kyiv to cook for the elderly and the battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
6. In April 2022, she was working at a restaurant when she was contacted by the Miss Ukraine Universe organization to be the next titleholder.
7. On June 15, 2022, she was officially appointed Miss Ukraine Universe 2022.
8. On January 14, 2023, she represented Ukraine at Miss Universe 2022 and competed against 83 other candidates at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. She was unplaced but she won the Spirit of Carnival Award.
9. On January 17, 2023, she told The Daily Beast, “I am more than grateful to Miss Universe for their support but I am not sure the organizers understood what it felt like for me to be standing and smiling on the same stage with Miss Russia who was wearing a red dress, the color of blood.”
