With a high-powered rifle, Robert Eugene “Bobby” Crimo III, 21, of Highwood, Illinois, United States was standing on a roof overlooking the route of a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois at around 10:15 a.m. on July 4, 2022. Just minutes after the parade began, he allegedly opened fire.
Right after the mass shooting, a total of 26 patients aged 8 to 85 were received at the NorthShore University Health Center in Highland Park. All but one patient had gunshot wounds.
A total of seven people died and 38 others were injured. Here is the list of the victims who were fatally shot by Crimo:

Crimo has one older sister and one younger brother. Their parents are Robert “Bob” Crimo II, 57, of Highwood and Denise Marie Pesina Crimo, 48, of Highland Park.
Bobby lives in an apartment in Highwood at the back of a family house shared by Bob and Bob’s brother Paul Crimo, 54. In 2019, Bob unsuccessfully ran for mayor in Highland Park, Illinois, losing to Nancy Rodkin Rotering, 60.
As a rapper, Bobby is known as Awake the Rapper. In 2016, he released his song “By The Pond” featuring Atlas.
On December 23, 2017, Sleepy Squad released Bobby’s first album titled “messages“, which has 23 songs including “2022“, “K.I.A.” and “out.of.this.world“. Before the mass shooting in Highland Park, he released his second extended play titled “Brainwashed“, which has five songs namely “Brainwashed“, “Dead Again“, “Gameboy“, “Dumb Diddy Dumb” and “I Am the Storm“.
