Caleb Jordan McCreless and 17 other people from El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, United States allegedly conspired to possess with the intent to distribute in excess of 5kg of cocaine from January 2010 to April 2013. He was 23 years old when he and 15 other defendants were arrested and charged by indictment on April 30, 2013.
On October 1, 2019, Christopher Luke McGinnis, then 36, of Spring, Harris County, Texas made a negligence claim against Roberta Martin and Thomas Riedle Martin in Montgomery County, Texas. Aysia Mayo-Gray and Christopher Hollins represented the plaintiff while W. Shane Osborn represented the defendants.
While living in Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas, McCreless was registered as a managing member of McCreless Enterprises LLC, which was incorporated on March 25, 2020. Amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he had access to medical-grade nitrile gloves during the ensuing demand for medical personal protection equipment.
Medical companies allegedly paid McCreless $39 million to buy the in-demand gloves but he neither had any gloves at all nor delivered them to anyone that had made purchases. As a logistics operator, McGinnis delayed or stalled the delivery process when companies became concerned about their order of gloves not arriving.
A six-count indictment that returned on July 28, 2022 charged McCreless and McGinnis with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The former was also charged with five counts of wire fraud.
The indictment included the forfeiture of McCreless’s residence in Richmond. He allegedly bought the house, which is valued at more than $2 million, with money profited during the scheme.
On August 2, 2022, McCreless and McGinnis were arrested. On August 3, 2022, they will make their initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Yvonne Ho.
