Bryan “Pooh Bear” Battle, 27, of Charlotte, North Carolina, United States was one of the winners at “UFC on ESPN 40“, also known as “UFC Vegas 59“. It marked his third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Featuring 10 mixed martial arts bouts, “UFC Vegas 59” was held at the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Las Vegas Valley, Clark County, Nevada, USA on August 6, 2022. In the third bout of the evening, Battle fought Takashi “Ten” Sato, 32, of Tokyo, Japan in the welterweight division.

Mark Smith served as the referee. He stopped the welterweight contest after 44 seconds in the first round.
Battle knocked out Sato via head kick. With this finish, the fighter from Charlotte was one of the three athletes who received $50,000 bonus each as the Performance of the Night winners.
The victory improved Battle’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Sato now has 15 wins and 6 losses.
“The trajectory is up,” Battle said after his third UFC win. “As long as I keep my head screwed on tight, we’re just going to keep on climbing.”
A total of nine countries and territories were represented at “UFC Vegas 59” namely Brazil, Guam, Japan, Moldova, Nigeria, Poland, Switzerland, the U.S. and Wales. Sato solely represented Japan while Battle was one of the nine athletes who represented the host country.
Training at Hayastan MMA in Charlotte, Battle made his UFC debut at “UFC on ESPN 30” on August 28, 2021. He submitted Gilbert Urbina, 26, of Weslaco, Texas, USA via rear-naked choke at the UFC Apex in Enterprise.
On February 5, 2022, Battle went back to the UFC Apex in Enterprise where he earned his second UFC win. He defeated Tresean “Mr. Vicious” Gore, 28, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night 200“.
