Miss Universe Nepal 2021 Sujita Basnet, 29, of Maryland, United States will crown her successor Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu, Nepal on August 25, 2022. It is the third edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Nepal’s Miss Universe candidate.
Currently, Nepal has one Miss Universe placement. Representing the South Asian country, Manita Devkota finished in the Top 10 in 2018.
Basnet was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2021 at Hotel Yak & Yeti on October 30, 2021. Runner-up to Basnet was Nina Kant Mandal of Moscow, Russia and the respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Rakchya Upreti of Kathmandu, Pratikshya Mahara Chhetri of Rolpa, Nepal and Keshu Khadka of Lalitpur, Nepal.
Out of the 61 qualifiers, only 20 are still in the running towards becoming Miss Universe Nepal 2022. After checking their profiles, photos and videos, I picked the five candidates who I believe will make it to the top:
