Jesus Jorge Delcampo, 22, of Peoria, Arizona, United States is a maintenance worker at an apartment complex near McQueen and Warner Roads in Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona. On the morning of July 29, 2022, he was approached by a boy, 7, who is attending Islands Elementary School in Gilbert, Maricopa County.
That morning, the boy got to his bus stop too early. There were no other children around when he asked for help from Delcampo, who was riding around in a golf cart.
Following Delcampo’s instructions, the boy to followed the Peoria man to a shed near the apartment building where the man was working. The man allegedly molested the boy there then asked the boy to meet him back at a park.
The boy told his parents about the molestation so the parents talked to different maintenance staff of the apartment complex including Delcampo and called 911. Delcampo claimed that he went directly to the main office when he arrived at the apartment complex that morning but video surveillance showed him driving a golf cart the morning the boy was molested.
In August 2022, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was taken from all men working at the apartment complex. On September 8, 2022, the Chandler Police Department announced that the DNA found on the boy matched Delcampo.
On September 8, 2022, Chandler Police Department officers arrested Delcampo at his residence in Peoria. He was charged with one count of kidnapping and two counts of molestation of a child, which are both class 2 felonies.
