Homestead, Florida’s Neysser Poey-Gomez accused of shooting 2 teens in Hialeah


Neysser Alberto Poey-Gomez, 19, of Homestead, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States is 5’9″ tall and he weighs around 200 pounds. His nickname is Chico.

On September 2, 2022, Poey-Gomez was involved in a fistfight with a boy, 16. Wearing a ski mask, the Homestead resident allegedly shot the boy and a woman, 18, who were in the back seat of a car in Hialeah, Miami-Dade County on September 7, 2022.


The boy was shot in the arm while the woman had four gunshot wounds to her arm and leg. They drove themselves to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Hialeah and were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital‘s Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, Miami-Dade County.

Poey-Gomez allegedly fled the scene after shooting into the car multiple times. Footage from surveillance cameras showed a second suspect, who is still on the run.

On September 9, 2022, Poey-Gomez was arrested and booked into the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department in Miami without bond. He was charged with one count of shooting a deadly missile and two counts of attempted murder.


Homestead was incorporated on February 8, 1913. It is the second oldest city in Miami-Dade County next to Miami.

Steven D. Losner, 61, is the incumbent mayor of Homestead. Both actor Alan Campbell, 65, and singer Tracy Grammer, 54, were born in the city.
