  2. Aside from Walled Lake, he also lived in other parts of Michigan including West Bloomfield and Birmingham.
  3. He neither had a criminal record nor had protective orders against him.
  4. He and his wife Tina Lanis have two daughters together. They all lived in their family home in Walled Lake with a family dog.
  5. He was 3 years younger than Tina.
  6. In 1997, Tina gave birth to their daughter Rachel Landis.
  7. In 2001, Tina gave birth to their daughter Rebecca Lanis.
  8. He was a supporter of 45th U.S. president Donald Trump. After Trump lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, he became fascinated by the QAnon conspiracy theory, which started in 2017, his daughter Rebecca told The Daily Beast. She said, “He had a sense of reality but then after 2020, when Trump lost, he started going down these crazy rabbit holes.”
  9. At 4:11 a.m. on September 11, 2022, he used a Remington 870 shotgun to shoot his wife Tina, his daughter Rachel and their family dog in their home in Walled Lake while Rebecca was at a friend’s sleepover. He was fatally shot after exchanging fire with Walled Lake Police Department officers who responded to the scene. Tina died while Rachel survived after being critically injured.
  10. He died at the age of 53.
