Logan James Barnhart is a white man from Holt, Ingham County, Michigan, United States. He works as a machine operator for Barnhart & Son Inc., a business owned by his father and based in Holt.

Barnhart attended Haslett High School in Haslett, Ingham County and he was a running back on the school’s football team. He went on to become a competitive bodybuilder and a model.

Aside from Holt, Barnhart has lived in other parts of Michigan including Haslett, Lansing, Saginaw, Okemos and Marquette. Here are 13 more things about him:

1. In March 1998, he and around 10,000 others rioted near Michigan State University in East Lansing, Ingham County after a basketball game. He was arrested and charged with one count of inciting a riot.
2. In October 1998, he scored two touchdowns in the biggest game in Haslett High School’s history.
3. In December 1998, he rushed for 2,016 yards and scored 29 touchdowns for the season.
4. In August 2010, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of brandishing a firearm in public.

10. Wearing an American flag baseball cap, sunglasses and a Caterpillar brand sweatshirt, he went to the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. That day, Trump’s supporters breached the building while a joint session of Congress was certifying the vote of the Electoral College and affirming Joe Biden‘s victory in the 2020 presidential election. During the riot, he grabbed a Metropolitan Police Department officer by the vest on the back of their neck, helped drag the officer in a prone position down the stairs and into the crowd and pushed other officers and struck at them with a flagpole.
11. On August 17, 2021, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested him in Lansing, Ingham County. For his participation in the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, he was charged with civil disorder; assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers using a dangerous weapon and aiding and abetting; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; and violent entry and disorderly conduct in a U.S. Capitol building or grounds. 
12. He was 41 years old when he pleaded guilty on September 28, 2022 before U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan in Washington, D.C. to assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers using a dangerous weapon.
13. He will be sentenced on March 9, 2023.
