Damian Jude Francis, 44, of Lake Worth Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, United States used to teach first-grade student at Endeavour Primary Learning Center in Lauderhill, Broward County. Before this, he taught at Westwood Heights Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach County.
Francis has lost his job as a teacher. He was accused of caressing the legs of at least two girls in his class.
In October 2021, Endeavour Primary Learning Center suspended Francis over an accusation that he was inappropriately touching one of her female students. In January 2022, he was reinstated while the investigation was continuing in that case.
The second victim, who was aged 6, told her mother that if she were wearing a skirt or a dress, Francis would touch her ankle and slide his hand up and down her leg. The girl said it had happened several times and she no longer wanted to wear skirts or dresses to school.
On March 2, 2022, the Lauderdale Police Department was called to Endeavor Elementary School to investigate the girl’s claim. When Francis was questioned on March 24, 2022, he initially denied the accusation but later admitted that he should not have been hugging or touching his students.
On October 17, 2022, Francis was arrested, charged with lewd and lascivious conduct by a person over 18 and booked into the Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale. His bond was set at $65,000.
