  4. On December 26, 1980, he allegedly sexually assaulted and killed Sandra DiFelice, 25, inside her residence in Las Vegas. The case went cold and the house became the headquarters of the Hells Angels’ chapter in Las Vegas.
  5. In February 2021, DiFelice’s daughter, who was born in 1977, called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and asked for an update on her mother’s case. In December 2021, the LVMPD obtained a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sample from him at his home in Las Vegas. When an investigator asked him if he wanted to talk about DiFelice’s murder, he said he did not know who the investigator was talking about.
  6. On October 14, 2022, the DNA sample taken from him in December 2021 matched evidence taken from under DiFelice’s fingernails.
  7. On October 27, 2022, he was arrested by the Criminal Apprehension Team, a multi-jurisdictional task force led by the Federal Bureau of the Investigation. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas and charged with open murder with the use of a deadly weapon, sexual assault with a deadly weapon and burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon.
  8. On November 1, 2022, he was held without bail.
  9. On December 2, 2022, Judge Christy Craig committed him to the Lakes Crossing center, a maximum security psychiatric facility in Sparks, Nevada.
  10. He was 64 years old when a judge found him incompetent to stand trial on December 2, 2022.
