Cape Coral, Florida’s Julia Eden Franklin bites deputy’s ring finger

Julia Eden Franklin, 23, of Cape Coral, Lee County, Florida, United States slammed on her brakes while passing a Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s patrol car around midnight on November 3, 2022. She was driving 71 mph in a 50 mph zone on Immokalee Road near Twin Eagles Boulevard in Naples, Collier County, Florida.

CCSO deputies performed a traffic stop and found out that Franklin’s driver’s license was suspended. She also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for a writ of bodily attachment for contempt.

When the deputies ordered Franklin out of her car, she resisted and tried to escape. During the struggle, she bit a female deputy’s ring finger, which broke the deputy’s skin and caused the finger to bleed.

The Cape Coral resident was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and carrying a concealed firearm. Both charges are a felony.
