Team Lakay’s Stephen Loman beats Bibiano Fernandes; Igorot fighter earns 3rd ONE Championship win in Singapore

Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 27, of Baguio City, Philippines has proven that he is one of the best bantamweights of ONE Championship despite being relatively new in the Singapore-based martial arts organization. The Igorot mixed martial artist trains at Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines.

Loman traces hits roots from Bauko, Mountain Province, Philippines; Barlig, Mountain Province and Banaue, Ifugao, Philippines. He and former ONE Bantamweight World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, 35, represented the Philippines at “ONE on Prime Video 4“.

Featuring nine bouts, ONE Championship held “ONE on Prime Video 4” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on November 19, 2022. In the sixth bout of the evening, Loman fought former ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes, 42, of Brazil and Canada in the bantamweight division.

Olivier Coste served as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, he raised the hand of Loman, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

“ONE on Prime Video 4” marked Loman’s third victory in ONE Championship. He now holds a professional MMA record of 17 wins and 2 losses.

On the other hand, Fernandes now has 24 wins and 6 losses. The last time he won was on October 13, 2019 when he submitted Belingon via rear-naked choke.

From 2017 to 2019, Loman reigned as the bantamweight champion of BRAVE Combat Federation. In 2020, he went on hiatus amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

When Loman made his ONE Championship debut on December 17, 2021, he knocked out Yusup “Maestro” Saadulaev of Russia. On March 26, 2022, the Igorot MMA fighter earned his second win in the promotion by beating Shoko “Masamitsu” Sato of Japan via unanimous decision.
