A girl, 18, of Issaquah, King County, Washington, United States allegedly stole $165,000 from Nordstrom. Authorities did not release her name.
The girl committed the crime at Nordstrom stores in Seattle, King County; Tukwila, King County; Lynnwood, Snohomish County, Washington and Scottsdale, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. She worked for the luxury department store chain in 2021, according to the Lynnwood Police Department.
Within one month, the girl allegedly performed fraudulent returns by using Nordstrom cash registers. She would place the money into active bank accounts.
Detectives concluded their investigation on November 2, 2022. The Issaquah resident was arrested and charged with theft.
Founded in 1901, Nordstrom is headquartered in Seattle. Erik B. Nordstrom, 66, has been the company’s chief executive officer since March 3, 2020.
Since 2019, Nordstrom and its customers have donated more than $1.5 million in support of its long-term partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the U.S. and Canada. The company’s off-price retail division is called Nordstrom Rack.
In 2023, Nordstrom Rack will open a 29,000 square-foot store in Sequoia Mall in Visalia, San Joaquin Valley, Tulare County, California, USA. In the same year, the division will open a 24,000 square-foot store in SLO Promenade in San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County, California.
