James Reid x Destiny Rogers
Raised in Lodi, California, United States, Rogers is of Mexican descent. She was signed to The Stereotypes in February 2018 and RCA Records in November 2018.
Rogers released her extended plays “Tomboy” in 2019 and “Great Escape” in 2020. She and Reid met when he visited the studio of The Stereotypes in Los Angeles, California in January 2020.
Working with like-minded individuals such as Rogers opened up more opportunities for Careless Music to collaborate with other artists, local or international. “Lie to Me” serves as a stepping stone for the label to even more collaborations with international artists.
“Destiny is pretty much family at this point,” Reid said. For him, her vocals “really brought the song to a whole other level.”
