Kenneth “Smooth” Maningat, 29, of the Philippines is new in BRAVE Combat Federation but his mentor is not. He trains at DyIncredible Fighting and Fitness Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines under the tutelage of former BRAVE CF fighter “Dy Incredible” Rolando Dy, 31, of the Philippines.
Both Maningat and Dy are currently in Bali, Indonesia for “BRAVE CF 66”. They are with their teammate Ruel “Bagsik” Pañales, 25.
Both Maningat and Pañales will make their BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 66”, which will be held at Politeknik Pariwisata in Bali on November 26, 2022. In the co-main event of the evening, Maningat will fight “Zulfikar” Asu Almabaev (Асу Алмабаев), 28, of Kazakhstan in the bantamweight division.
Originally, Almaev was supposed to fight Magomed Idrisov, 29, of Bahrain at “BRAVE CF 66”. Weeks before fight night, the Bahraini MMA fighter was pulled out of the card and was replaced by Maningat.
Almabaev made his professional MMA debut in 2013. He has been competing in BRAVE CF since 2021 and now has three wins in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
Currently, Almabaev holds a professional MMA record record of 16 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Maningat has 6 wins and 0 loss.
Including Maningat and Pañales, there are three Filipino MMA fighters on the “BRAVE CF 66” card. The other one is “The Demolition Man” Jenel Lausa, 34.
Both Dy and Lausa are former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters. Here are Dy’s thoughts about Maningat’s upcoming fight against Almabaev:
