Dagestan, Russia’s Said Nurmagomedov earns 6th UFC win, submits Saidyokub Kakhramonov in Enterprise, Nevada

Said Nurmagomedov, 30, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia has earned his third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, a mixed martial arts promotion based in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, United States. He was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 216,” also known as “UFC on ESPN+ 74” and “UFC Vegas 66“.

Featuring 13 professional mixed martial arts bouts, “UFC Vegas 66” was held at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Clark County. In the fifth bout of the evening, Nurmagomedov fought Saidyokub Kakhramonov, 27, of Chicago, Illinois, USA in the bantamweight division.


Keith Peterson served as the referee. He stopped the bantamweight contest after 3 minutes and 50 seconds in the second round.

Nurmagomedov submitted Kakhramonov via ninja choke. It was the first UFC loss of the latter, who now holds a professional MMA record of 10 wins and 3 losses.

On the other hand, Nurmagomedov now has 17 wins and 2 losses. “UFC Vegas 66” marked the fifth time he won a professional MMA fight via submission.

Including Russia and the U.S., a total of 13 countries were represented at “UFC Vegas 66”. The others were Angola, Australia, Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, England, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Poland and Wales.


Born in Makhachkala, Nurmagomedov made his professional MMA debut in 2009. He is not related to his fellow Dagestani MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, 34, who reigned as the UFC Lightweight Champion from April 7, 2018 to October 24, 2020.

Kakhramonov is the sixth UFC fighter to lose to Said, who has been competing in the UFC since 2018. The first five UFC opponents Said defeated were Justin Scoggins, Ricardo Ramos, Mark Striegl, Cody Stamann and Douglas Silva de Andrade.
