“Peregrino” Joilton Lutterbach, 30, of Germany and Brazil and Mihail Cotruta, 32, of Moldova were supposed to fight for BRAVE Combat Federation‘s championship title in the super lightweight division at “BRAVE CF 66“. However, the German-Brazilian mixed martial artist did not make weight so only his Moldovan opponent was eligible for the belt.
Featuring eight professional MMA bouts, “BRAVE CF 66” was held at Maritim Hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany on December 17, 2022. The main event of the evening was the super lightweight bout wetween Lutterbach and Cotruta.
Dec Larkin served as the referee. Lutterbach came out with his signature power jab, followed by powerful right crosses that hurt Cotruta early on.
While Cotruta did well to counter with a flurry of punches, it was not enough to rattle Lutterbach, who was impeccable with his timing and efficacy. The German-Brazilian contender unleashed a hook from hell that sent his Moldovan opponent straight to the canvas.
Larkin stopped the super lightweight contest after 2 minutes and 53 seconds in the first round. He raised the hand of Lutterbach, who was declared the winner via technical knockout via punches.
“I had fun tonight,” Lutterbach said right after his victory. “It was a good fight for me. All my respect to Mihail.”
“He is truly a tough guy,” Lutterbach said of Cotruta. “But tonight was my night. I hope I can fight for the title next.”
Winning at “BRAVE CF 66” improved Lutterbach’s professional MMA record to 37 wins, 10 losses and 1 No Contest. Despite not winning the interim championship title, he is expected to challenge reigning BRAVE CF Super Lightweight World Champion Eldar Eldarov, 31, of Bahrain.
“Eldar, I wish you a good recovery for your shoulder,” Lutterbach said. “I hope you can get better soon so that we can make the fight happen.”
“Thank you to all who came to support me,” Lutterbach continued. “I am so happy and so blessed. All I want next is the BRAVE CF title fight next.”
Born in Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil, Lutterbach is based in Dusseldorf. He made his professional MMA debut on December 9, 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
On August 6, 2022, Lutterbach made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 61” at Maritim Hotel in Bonn, Germany. He defeated his fellow Dusseldorf resident Marcel Grabinski, 31, via technical knockout via punches.
