It has yet to be confirmed whether or not Blanco and Guerrero are Houston residents. The driver is an immigrant from El Salvador who has been driving for Uber since 2018.
At around 8:00 a.m. on November 1, 2022, the Uber driver picked up Blanco and Guerrero at a gas station on Tidwell and the Eastex (59N) Freeway in Houston. An unknown third party had set up the ride.
