BRAVE Combat Federation will hold “BRAVE CF 70” in Ljubljana, Slovenia on April 23, 2023. This is the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion’s second event in 2023.

“BRAVE CF 69” was held at the Stark Arena in Belgrade, Serbia on February 18, 2023. In the main event, “Omok” Abdisalam Kubanychbek, 28, of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan become the BRAVE CF Lightweight Champion by defeating Kamil Magomedov, 39, of Moscow, Russia via unanimous decision.

“BRAVE CF 70” is the second BRAVE CF event held in Ljubljana. On January 19, 2020, “BRAVE CF 34” was held at Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana.

Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is the setting of the 1998 novel “Veronika Decides to Die” by Paulo Coelho, 75. In 2010, Belgrade and Ljubljana became twin cities.

On the “BRAVE CF 70” fight card is a bantamweight bout between “Sher-e-Hind” Mohammed Farhad, 33, of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and Ruel “Bagsik” Pañales, 26, of Placer, Masbate, Philippines. This is a rematch between the two Asian MMA fighters.

On November 26, 2022, Farhad fought Pañales at “BRAVE CF 66” at Politeknik Pariwisata in Bali, Indonesia. It ended in a No Contest due to an accidental groin kick at 2:42 of Round 2.
