Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho, 34, of Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina, United States is accused of communicating with a girl, 13, of Dallas, Texas, USA through social media chat platforms. They met while playing an online video game in 2022.

Camacho and the girl used Discord to chat and they spoke for months. He allegedly convinced her to leave her home.

On March 1, 2023, the girl went missing from Dallas. Camacho allegedly picked her up in Dallas and brought her to Lexington.

At around 6:00 p.m. on March 10, 2023, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received a top from agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Texas that the missing girl could be in Davidson County. At around 6:10 p.m., investigators began surveillance of Camacho’s property in Lexington.

The investigators made a traffic stop and apprehended Camacho. When they searched his property, they found the girl locked in a shed at the property.

After being taken to a hospital for treatment, the girl was returned to Dallas. Camacho was arrested and charged with child abduction, human trafficking, felonious restraint of a child, indecent liberties with a child, two counts of statutory rape of a child under 15 and two counts of statutory sexual offense with a child under 15.

On April 10, 2023, Camacho will attend a hearing in Davidson County District Court in Lexington. His bond was set at $1.25 million.
