The Mexicana Universe 2023 coronation ceremony will be held at the Centro de Convenciones y Exposiciones in Aguascalientes, Mexico on September 2, 2023. It is the fifth edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Mexico’s Miss Universe and Miss International candidates.
In this edition, the winner will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2023. The country will be represented by the second placer at Miss International 2024, the third placer at Miss Charm International 2024, the fourth placer at Miss Orb International 2023 and the fifth placer at Reina Hispanoamericana 2023.
On May 21, 2022, Irma Miranda was crowned Mexicana Universal 2022 along with Mexicana Internacional 2023 Itzia García, Mexicana Latinoamericana 2022 Verónica Gamboa and Mexicana Hispanoamericana 2022 Diana Robles. Both from Mexicana Universal 2020, Karen Bustos finished in the Top 20 at Miss Charm 2023 and Camila Canto won Miss Orb International 2022.
From 1952 to 1994, Señorita México sent Mexico’s representatives to Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss World. The country was represented in Miss Universe from 1995 to 2014, in 2016 and in 2017 by the winner of Nuestra Belleza Mexico, which was rebranded as Mexicana Universal in 2018.
Currently, Mexico has 21 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Lupita Jones in 1991, Ximena Navarrete in 2010 and Andrea Meza in 2020 and 17 Miss International placements including the coronations of Priscila Perales in 2007 and Anagabriela Espinoza. The most recent ones were achieved by Miss International 2019 first runner-up Andrea Toscano and Meza as Miss Universe 2020.
