Kendall Wayne Ross of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States has died. He was 29.
From 2013 to 2016, Ross attended Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA where he earned his associate’s degree in culinary arts. From September 2016 to December 2016, he was a chef de partie at The Dinex Group in New York City, New York, USA.
From July 2017 to August 2017, Ross was one of the chefs on Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper‘s joint summer tour. Ross executed breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 100 people including Stewart, Lauper and the tour’s crew and bands.
From April 2018 to November 2018, Ross was one of the chefs on Ed Sheeran‘s world concert tour titled “÷ Tour“. The chefs cooked for the tour’s crew and bands in 37 cities across eight countries.
Stewart released his 31st studio album “The Tears of Hercules” on November 12, 2021. Sheeran’s fifth studio album “Subtract” will be released on May 5, 2023.
In 2022, Ross married Lillian Hennes, a former third grade teacher. On March 18, 2023, he was driving a 2012 Hyundai Genesis with her in the front passenger’s seat while Alexander Gomez, 23, was driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra with Walter Hernandez, 25, in the front passenger’s seat.
At around 7:06 p.m., the Nissan Sentra was going at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the back of the Hyundai Genesis on Central Avenue in Charlotte. The Nissan Sentra hit a curb, spun around and stopped while the Hyundai Genesis went off the side of the road and crashed into a power pole.
Ross was killed in the crash. Hennes was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Gomez was arrested after he was found to be impaired. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony death by vehicle and reckless driving.
