David Joseph Nepo, 54, of Aventura, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States drove a Mini Cooper behind his wife’s BMW on March 22, 2023. The BMW was behind a car that stopped to allow an elderly man to cross the road at the entrance of the Porto Vida community in Aventura.

However, Nepo’s wife did not stop so she nearly truck the elderly man. As she drove away, the elderly man slapped the window of the BMW.

Because of this, Nepo drove directly to the elderly man. The formerly allegedly got out of his car and kicked the latter in the chest and the leg.

The elderly man suffered redness and swelling. Nepo was arrested and booked into the Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, Miami-Dade County.

Nepo was charged with battery on a person 65 or older. He was released after posting a $7,500 bond.

Aventura is home to Turnberry Isle and Aventura Mall. With more than 50 restaurants and eateries, the mall is the third largest mall in the U.S. by total square feet of retail space.
