When “Robzilla” Robert Valentin, 28, of Zurich, Switzerland made his ARES Fighting Championship debut at “ARES 4” at the Le Dôme de Paris – Palais des Sports in Paris, France on March 10, 2022, he was submitted by Akhmed Salamov, 29, of Paris via kneebar. On November 3, 2022, the Swiss mixed martial artist went back to the same venue for his second bout in the promotion.
In the co-main event of “ARES 9“, Valentin fought “King Kong” Pietro Penini, 30, of Verona, Italy. The middleweight match ended in a No Contest due to illegal blows.
Featuring nine bouts, “ARES 14” was also held on April 7, 2023 also at the Le Dôme de Paris – Palais des Sports in Paris. In the seventh bout of the evening, Valentin fought Penini in the middleweight division again.
Naoufel Louati served as the referee of the rematch. He stopped the middleweight contest after 3 minutes and 49 seconds in the first round when Valentin submitted Penini via rear-naked choke.
A total of 13 countries and territories were represented at “ARES 14” namely Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cuba, England, France, Italy, New Caledonia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa and Switzerland. Valentin solely represented Switzerland.
Beating Penini at “ARES 14” improved Valentin’s professional MMA record to 8 wins, 3 losses and 1 No Contest. On the other hand, the Italian MMA fighter now has 10 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and 1 No Contest.
Valentin made his professional MMA debut in 2016. Before joining ARES FC, he competed in We Love MMA, Vote MMA, Aggrelin, Innferno Fighting Championship, Austrian Fight Challenge, Lions Fighting Championship and Levels Fight League.
