“The Archangel” Pieter Daniel Buist, 35, of Breda, North Brabant, Netherlands is set to make his debut in Bellator MMA, which is headquartered in Hollywood, California, United States. It will be the Dutch-Ghanaian mixed martial artist’s first fight after a one-year hiatus.
From May 2019 to November 2021, Buist competed in ONE Championship, which is based in Singapore. In December 2021, he announced his transitioned to Bellator MMA.
Born in Holland, Netherlands to a Ghanaian father and a Dutch mother, Buist attended Vitalis College in Breda. He made his professional MMA debut in 2012.
In 2022, Buist continued his regular training in Breda while waiting for his first Bellator MMA fight. He trains with “The Dreamcatcher” Gegard Mousasi, 37, of Leiden, Netherlands.
Mousasi has been competing in Bellator MMA since October 2017. On May 12, 2023, he and Fabian Edwards, 30, of Erdington, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom will headline “Bellator 296” at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.
On June 16, 2023, Buist will make his Bellator MMA debut at “Bellator 297” at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He will fight Gadzhi Rabadanov (Гаджи Рабаданов), 29, of St. Petersburg, Russia.
Currently, Buist holds a professional MMA record of 17 wins and 6 losses. Rabadanov has 19 wins, 4 losses and 2 draws.
At “Bellator 297”, Buist and Rabadanov will battle it out in the lightweight division. The Russian MMA fighter has been competing in Bellator MMA since 2021 and currently has 4 wins and 0 loss in the promotion.
