Connor Joseph Emerson, 25, of Waynetown, Wayne Township, Montgomery County, Indiana, United States is accused of distributing large amounts of child porn in 2022. An investigation started when the Federal Bureau of Investigation reached out to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office about the alleged crimes.
On April 19, 2023, officers executed the two warrants at Emerson’s residence in Waynetown. The officers are from the FBI, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Crawfordsville Police Department, the Waynetown Town Marshal, the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Boone County C.A.S.E. Unit.
At around 12:37 p.m. that day, Emerson was arrested at his residence in Waynetown. The officers also seized thousands of images of child pornography on several electronic devices from the residence.
After posting $3,000 cash bond, Emerson was released from the county jail. Charged with two felony counts of child exploitation, he will make his initial court appearance in Montgomery Circuit Court in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County at 10:00 a.m. on May 1, 2023.
The East Fork of Coal Creek runs through Waynetown. The town has a total area of 1.17 km2, all land.
Each year, Waynetown holds a Fish Fry, which also runs a carnival. The town employs a police department with numerous deputies and a town marshal.
