West Chester, Pennsylvania’s John Stevens accused of assaulting 2 boys, 2 girls; Bail set at $750k

John Paul Stevens, 54, of West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States was left to care for children at his residence. Aside from West Chester, he has lived in other parts of Pennsylvania including Chester, Chester Springs, Exton, Gap and Lancaster.

Between March 31, 2023 and April 2, 2023, Stevens allegedly sexually assaulted two girls, both 5, and a boy, 8, and another boy, 7, at his residence in West Chester. Stevens allegedly started abusing the older boy in 2021 and touched the child nine times during showers.

One of the girls claimed that she was abused by Stevens three times over the course of three consecutive days. The other girl said he threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the abuse.

According to the two girls, Stevens invited over a boy, then 13, during one occasion. Under Stevens’ supervision, the teenage boy allegedly assaulted both girls.

On April 10, 2023, the West Whiteland Police Department received a report of the abuses. Between April 20, 2023 and April 28, 2023, officers interviewed the four victims.

On May 3, 2023, Stevens was arrested. On May 5, 2023, he was arraigned before District Judge John R. Bailey on charges of aggravated indecent assault of a child, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful restraint of a minor and related offenses.

On May 11, 2023, Stevens will attend a preliminary hearing. He was booked into the Chester County Prison in West Chester and his cash bail was set at $750,000.
