Javier Fernando Romero-Gonzalez, 45, is a Spanish teacher at Innovation Middle School in Orlando, Orange County, Florida, United States. He is accused of filming two female students who were dancing in his class and touching female students inappropriately in his class.
In April 2023, the Orlando Police Department was alerted to reports of inappropriate behavior of Romero-Gonzalez. Detectives with the department interviewed four female students who witnessed the incidents.
The four students told the detectives Romero-Gonzalez had touched them inappropriately. He allegedly inappropriately touched female students’ shoulders, hips and buttocks and frequently hugged them.
On April 12, 2023, the Orange County School District was made aware of the allegations. On the same day, the Spanish teacher was placed on administrative leave.
Romero-Gonzalez has been arrested. He was booked into the Orange County Jail in Orlando.
Bail for Romero-Gonzalez was set at $40,000. He was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious conduct and two counts of an authority figure engaging in lewd conduct with a student.
