Sir’Antonio Brown of Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, United States has died. He was 6.

On May 3, 2023, Brown was playing in the front yard of a house in Kansas City when he was fatally shot allegedly by Lakevis Sloan, 20, a boy, 17, and an unidentified suspect. Both Sloan and the teenage boy are also residents of Kansas City.

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department did not believe the shooting was a random act. More than 30 shell casings were found at the scene.

On the evening of May 16, 2023, Sloan and the teenage suspect just exited a Greyhound bus in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota, USA when they were arrested by KCKPD officers. The third suspect is still at large.

Both Sloan and the teenage suspect were charged with second-degree murder. They are being held in South Dakota as they await extradition to Kansas City.

“We want Sir’Antonio’s family and our community to know that we are not slowing down the pace of this investigation,” KCKPD detective Mark Bundy stated. “Somebody out there knows who this third suspect is and where he is. Now is the time to make the call. Don’t wait any longer because we will arrest anybody and everybody who is housing or covering for this child killer.”
