Madeline Pantoja of Midland, Midland County, Texas, United States has died. She was 20.

Mario Juan Chacon, Jr., 24, was Pantoja’s former boyfriend. They broke just days before her death.

On May 10, 2023, Pantoja went out and had a dinner with a close friend. At around 11:00 p.m., the friend dropped her off at her apartment in Midland.

On May 11, 2023, Pantoja was reported missing. She left her car, phone and dog at her apartment in Midland.

 The two had reportedly broken up just before she disappeared.

On May 19, 2023, Midland mayor Lori Blong announced that a $20,000 reward for information that would lead to Pantoja’s whereabouts.

On May 20, 2023, Pantoja was found dead. An autopsy will be performed in Dallas

Hours later, Chacon was arrested by Midland Police Department officers on suspicion of murder in her death. He was charged with first-degree murder.  

Chacon was booked into  the Midland County Jail. He is being held without bond.
