David C. Mulhauser, 41, of North Arlington, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States is a former medical evacuation pilot. He previously lived in Gardiner, Ulster County, New York, USA and worked in Shawangunk, Ulster County.

Mulhauser was employed as a pilot with the LifeNet of New York program, which operates more than 300 aircraft at more than 250 bases in the U.S. The program is operated by Air Methods Corporation, which based in Greenwood Village, Arapahoe County, Colorado, USA.

From June 2022 through February 2023, Mulhauser allegedly unlawfully filmed 21 adults at two separate locations in Ulster County. He is accused of using a covert video camera disguised as a common smoke detector to film others using the bathroom in his residence and co-workers at his workplace in Shawangunk.

In August 2022, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) started investigating Mulhauser after discovering numerous videos depicting explicit content involving children that he allegedly downloaded. Months later, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office joined the investigation.

In February 2023, detectives obtained a search warrant for Mulhauser’s electronic devices and residence in North Arlington. The detectives found evidence suggesting numerous videos of child pornography were previously downloaded onto at least one of his electronic devices. 

Moreover, the detectives found in Mulhauser’s residence a ghost gun, an unlawfully possessed 9mm semi-automatic handgun without a serial number. With the help of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the detectives found the camera that he allegedly used to film 21 victims, who were all eventually identified and notified.

On May 17, 2023, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Mulhauser and charged him with criminal possession of a firearm, possessing a sexual performance by a child and 17 felony counts of unlawful surveillance. He was released on appearance tickets.
