The Miss Costa Rica 2023 coronation ceremony will be held at the Estudio Marco Picado of Teletica in San José, Costa Rica on August 16, 2023. It is the 68th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Costa Rica’s Miss Universe candidate.
On September 28, 2022, Fernanda Rodríguez, then 24, of San Carlos was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2022 at the Estudio Marco Picado in Nunciatura, San José Province, San José. Kristell Ruiz Freeman, then 25, of San Jose was first runner-up and Mariella Conejo Benavides, then 27, of San Jose was second runner-up.
Currently, Costa Rica has six Miss Universe placements. The highest one was Top 10, which was achieved by Nancy Soto in 2004, Johanna Solano in 2011, Natalia Carvajal in 2018 and Ivonne Cerdas in 2020.
