Randolph “Rand” Reeder Snell, 67, of Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, United States previously lived in Washington, D.C., USA and Alexandria, Virginia, USA. Aside from St. Petersburg, he has lived in other parts of Florida including Palmetto and Bradenton.
Hakan Isik, 56, of Desert Hot Springs, Riverside County, California, USA previously lived in New York City, New York, USA and Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. Aside from Desert Hot Springs, he has lived in other parts of California including West Hollywood, Glendale, Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Thousand Palms.
Isik is of Turkish descent. He is 5’9″ tall and he weighs 170 pounds.
On January 28, 2023, Snell visited Palm Springs from St. Petersburg and started talking to Isik on an online dating app. The St. Petersburg resident invited the Desert Hot Springs resident to his hotel.
That day, Isik went there and allegedly drugged, raped, beat, bit, kicked and burned Snell for hours. The latter went in and out of consciousness.
Right after Isik left, Snell contacted the Palm Springs Police Department. He was rushed to the Desert Regional Medical Center on North Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.
After assaulting Snell, Isik allegedly assaulted another man on May 6, 2023 and another man on May 10, 2023. Details about the two alleged victims have yet to be released.
On May 17, 2023, Isik was arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, Riverside County. His bail was set at $55,000.
On May 19, 2023, Isik was charged with sexual penetration by means of force, cruelty to an adult and two felony counts of sodomy of an intoxicated victim. He also faces a sentence-enhancing allegation of causing bodily injury with a sex offense and four misdemeanor counts of battery.
