Did Miramar, Florida’s Martai McCullough Jr. date a Horace Mann Middle School student?

Martai Delvon McCullough Jr., 26, of Miramar, Broward County, Florida, United States is a teacher at Horace Mann Middle School in El Portal, Miami-Dade County, Florida. From 2015 to 2016, he attended Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County.

From 2018 to 2020, McCullough went to Florida International University in Westchester, Miami-Dade County where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and anthropology. In 2021, he started teaching at Horace Mann Middle School.

McCullough is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a girl, 12, who had been his student during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic school years. They allegedly started exchanging post-it notes just before December 25, 2022, saying “I love you” to each other.

After exchanging notes, McCullough allegedly started using delivery apps including UberEats and DoorDash to buy the girl lunch. They allegedly would hug each other in his classroom and he allegedly would have her sit on his lap.

During the 2022-2023 school year, McCullough and the girl allegedly started kissing and he allegedly would grope her over her clothes in his classroom. He allegedly bought her a bracelet for her birthday.

During the 2023 spring break, McCullough and the girl allegedly started communicating through Instagram where he would ask her for feet pictures. He allegedly exposed himself when they video chatted each other and sent her several explicit messages about sex acts he wanted to do.

On June 30, 2023, the girl’s father approached a Miami-Dade Schools police officer and reported the inappropriate relationship. On July 11, 2023, McCullough was arrested at Horace Mann Middle School, booked into the Miami-Dade Jail in Miami, Miami Dade County and held on a $32,500 bond.

As of July 12, 2023, McCullough had bonded out of jail. He was charged with molestation of a child, lewd and lascivious conduct on a child, lewd and lascivious exhibition on a child and offenses against students by authority figures.
