Reigning Miss Grand Philippines 2022 Roberta Tamondong, 20, of San Pablo, Laguna, Philippines is about to crown her successor. Beauty pageant fans want to know what her future plans are given that she has eight more years to compete in Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth and 12 years to compete in Miss Supranational.
Tamondong was present during the sashing ceremony of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on June 20, 2023. During the event, I asked the possibility of her joining Miss Universe Philippines 2024.
“Actually, I’m just taking my time right now,” Tamondong told me. She said she is exploring new ventures such as the modelling industry and the show business in general.
According to the reigning Miss Grand Philippines 2022, she has been doing beauty pageants since 2018 and for her, it is time for her to explore new ventures of her career paths. When it comes to her next beauty contest, she told me, “You can definitely say you can see me soon but not next year.”
On July 13, 2023, Tamondong will crown Miss Grand Philippines 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila. One of the judges is the reigning Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin, 27, of Brazil.
On December 5, 2020, Tamondong represented the Philippines at Miss Eco Teen International 2020 in Hurghada, Egypt and won the title. She is the first Filipino to win the title.
When Tamondong represented the Philippines at Miss Grand International 2022 and competed against 67 other candidates at the Sentul International Convention Center in West Java, Indonesia on October 25, 2022, she finished in the Top 20. But on November 2, 2022, she became one of the five fifth runners-up, replacing Yuvna Rinishta Gookool of Mauritius, who resigned.
