On January 7, 2021, he saved to his iCloud account images of a Twitter post concerning 48th vice president Mike Pence and an article about the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.
On January 29, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation received at least two tips identifying him as a participant in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
On March 20, 2023, a federal search warrant was served on Apple authorizing a search of his iCloud account, which revealed multiple videos and photos captured by his cell phone in Washington, D.C., and at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
On July 28, 2023, U.S. Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather signed a criminal complaint filed by an FBI special agent against him.
On July 31, 2023, he was arrested in Waynesville.
He was 36 years old when he was arrested on July 31, 2023. He was charged with obstruction or impeding an official proceeding; knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or ground;, disorderly conduct in a U.S. Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a U.S. Capitol building.
