The Miss Republica Dominicana 2023 coronation ceremony will be held at the Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on September 3, 2023. It is the 71st edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Dominican Republic’s Miss Universe candidate.
Andreina Martinez won the 70th edition at the Salón de Eventos Sambil in Santo Domingo on November 7, 2021 with Debbie Aflalo as the runner-up. Representing the Dominican Republic, Aflalo was unplaced at Miss Universe 2021 while Martinez was second runner-up to Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel.
Including Martinez’s second runner-up finish, the Dominican Republic currently has 12 Miss Universe placements. Representing the Caribbean country, Amelia Vega won Miss Universe 2003 and Ada de la Cruz was runner-up to Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez.
