Kerry Anne Wells is an Australian news anchor, writer, fashion designer and beauty queen born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. She is the first Miss Universe from Australia.

An expert in the reuse of space, Wells has a service redesigning floor plans online. In June 2006, she attended the official launch of Bodythink, a program running in schools in Victoria, Australia that encourages students to question the body image presented by the fashion industry.

“You may wonder what I’m doing here today given that when I was younger, as a model and briefly as a beauty titleholder, I perpetrated the promotion of a female body image which few women can emulate,” The Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as saying at the time. “I, like the others here today, are concerned that girls and boys are now increasingly insecure about the way they look.”

Wells worked as a television weather girl while her brother was a musician before she became a beauty queen. Their father Albert Wells is 6’5″ tall.

On September 6, 1972, she flew back to Sydney and surprised to find her parents waiting to greet her.
