Police officers in Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, United States conducted a prostitution enforcement operation on October 13, 2023. It was a response to the complaints from residents and business owners about prostitution in the area of Indian Hill Boulevard and the 10 Freeway in Claremont.  

As part of the operation, five Claremont Police Department officers posed as prostitutes and solicited subjects attempting to pay for sex acts. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation and the police departments of Glendora, Los Angeles County and Upland, San Bernardino County, California participated in the enforcement operation with assistance of the Claremont Motel.

A total of 12 Californian men were arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Here is the list:

  7. Jonathan Everett Manpioper, 25, of Anaheim, California 
  8. Jose Manuel Orozco Barriento, 48, of Fontana, California 
  9. Maher Salama, 64, Pomona, California
  10. Renardo Carrillo Martinez, 22, of Rialto, California 
  11. Reymundo Alvarado Galvan, 25, of Jurupa Valley, California
  12. Trevon Michael Lofton, 30, of La Verne, California

Salcedo was being held pending extradition to Texas, USA for an outstanding sexual crime warrant. The 11 other arrestees were booked and released on citations with a date to appear in Pomona Superior Court on Civic Center Plaza in Pomona.

Salama is a registered sex offender for sexual battery. He was out of compliance of his sex registrant conditions.
