Did Lehigh Acres, Florida’s Marcus Smith brag about beating Vietnam war Jerry Greene?

Marcus Smith, 33, of Lehigh Acres, Lee County, Florida, United States was driving a white pickup truck when he was allegedly tailing Jerry Greene, 73, with high beams near U.S. 41 and Pondella Road in North Fort Myers, Lee County at around 7:30 p.m. on October 5, 2023. The latter is a Vietnam veteran.

Greene got out of his vehicle to tell Smith his high beams were on. The latter allegedly jumped out of his truck and punched the Vietnam veteran in the face, knocking two of his teeth out. 

After the attack, Smith jumped into his truck and sped off. Greene was left lying on the group and was later taken to the hospital with a busted hip.

Smith took to social media to provide evidence of the crime he committed, including a photo of his bloody knuckle. According to him, doctors were forced to remove his victim’s teeth from his knuckle.

Moreover, Smith went to a bar, took a selfie of himself and bragged about attacking Greene. That selfie was sent to NBC2 and forwarded to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Soon after, Smith was arrested, booked into the Lee County Jail in Fort Myers, Lee County and charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 or older. Meanwhile, Greene is learning to walk again with his hip replacement with the help of a physical therapist.
