What songs will John Legend sing at Miss Universe 2023 in San Salvador, El Salvador?

John Legend, 44, will entertain the Miss Universe audience again. Recently, the Miss Universe Organization confirmed that the singer-songwriter will perform during the coronation ceremony of the international beauty pageant’s 72nd edition.

On August 23, 2010, Legend performed “Save Room” and “Shine” with The Roots during the Miss Universe 2010 coronation ceremony at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United. That night, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico won the title.

“I first met John when he performed at Miss Universe in 2010 with The Roots,” Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart stated. “I have been a huge fan ever since both of his music and his charity and social impact work. I know he’ll bring something very special to our stage and will take the event to a whole new level.”

Born in Springfield, Ohio, USA, Legend is married to Chrissy Teigen, 37. She was born in Delta, Utah, USA to an American-Norwegian father and a Thai mother.

Legend has yet to announce the songs he will perform at Miss Universe 2023. Other performers, hosts, backstage correspondents and the selection committee will be announced soon.  

Sergio Alfaro’s InventTV will produce Miss Universe 2023. Telemundo and The Roku Channel will broadcast the coronation ceremony, which will be held at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 18, 2023.

A total of 86 women will compete for the title, including Isabella Garcia-Manzo, 20, of El Salvador, Melissa Flores, 25, of Mexico, Julie Tollefsen, 28, of Norway, Anntonia Porsild, 27, of Thailand and Noelia Voigt, 24, of the U.S. Among their fellow candidates are transwomen Rikkie Kolle, 22, of the Netherlands and Marina Machete, 28, of Portugal and mothers Camila Avella, 28, of Colombia and Michelle Cohn, 28, of Guatemala.
