Canadian mixed martial artist Jeremy “JBC” Kennedy, 25, has signed a multi-fight contract with Brave Combat Federation ending his tenure with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He trains at Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts, which is headed by former UFC champion Randy “The Natural” Couture, 55.
Hailing from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, Kennedy was the second Canadian fighter signed by Brave CF. He served as the cornerman of former Brave CF Bantamweight Championship title contender Gary “Saint Lion” Mangat, 31, the first Canadian fighter signed with the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
“I chose Brave CF because when I went out a couple times to corner Gary Mangat,” Kennedy stated. “I really liked their team and how they ran things. Brave CF is one of the bigger organizations based out of Asia, so I wanted to test myself against some of the best international fighters in the world.”
Currently, Kennedy holds a professional MMA record of 11 wins and 1 loss. He maintained an undefeated record until he had his first loss in his most recent bout, which was against his fellow Australian Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski, 29.
On February 10, 2018, Kennedy and Volkanovski competed in the featherweight division at “UFC 221,” which took place at the Perth Arena in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. The referee put a stop to the bout seconds before the end of the second round when the latter knocked out the former.
Sources close to Kennedy revealed that he is looking forward to have his first Brave CF fight in August 2018 in the featherweight division, which recently witnessed signing more athletes. Currently reigning as Brave CF Featherweight Champion is Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 24, of France.
Brave CF has hinted that flyweight, featherweight and middleweight divisions will witness athlete signings in the coming days. Meanwhile, here is a video from the most recent event of the promotion:
