Belmont University student Jillian Ludwig shot; Bond for Nashville, Tennessee’s Shaquille Taylor set at $280k

Jillian Ludwig, 18, of Wall, Tom Green County, Texas, United States is a musician born in New Jersey, USA. She attended Wall High School in Wall.

“I have been playing music for as long as I can remember,” Ludwig wrote on Facebook in August 2022. “At school, I am in the WHS Marching Band and Jazz Band playing oboe and saxophone, and I’m a member of the National Music Honor Society. Outside of school, I am a student at Lakehouse Music Academy and a member of two local rock bands, Arcadia and Good Morning Beautiful, where I sing and play guitar and bass.”

In May 2023, Ludwig graduated from Wall High School. In August 2023, she entered Belmont University in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA.

Ludwig and Shaquille Latrelle Taylor, 29, of Nashville did not know each other. On September 21, 2023, he was arrested in Nashville for theft, jailed and released.

At around 2:30 p.m. on November 7, 2023, Ludwig was walking on a track at the Edgehill Community Memorial Gardens Park in Nashville when she was shot allegedly by Taylor. From across the street, he allegedly fired and was aiming at a sedan.

A bullet struck Ludwig in the head. Taylor fled the scene and went to his girlfriend’s apartment nearby.

At around 3:30 p.m., Metropolitan Nashville Police Department officers found Taylor. He and his girlfriend were detained.  

Taylor was charged with aggravated assault and evidence tampering. His was set at $280,000.

On November 9, 2023, Taylor will appear in court before Judge Allegra Walker. Meanwhile, Ludwig is currently in extremely critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
