Álvaro Andrés Flores Carvajal, 22, of Machalí, Cachapoal Province, O’Higgins Region, Chile was one of the 36 men who competed for the Mister Global 2023 title. He almost won the crown.
Flores is a talented singer and violinist currently studying acting at the Academia de Fernando González in Santiago, Chile. He practices meditation and Reiki-Usui healing and enjoys basketball, football and volleyball.
On April 1, 2023, Alvaro competed against 13 other Mister Chile 2023 candidates at the Centro Cultural De Buin in Buin, Chile and won the title. On November 14, 2023, the Machali resident arrived in Thailand.
Mister Global 2023
On November 23, 2023, the 36 Mister Global 2023 candidates visited Kantharawichai, Maha Sarakham, Thailand. Alvaro was chosen as Mister Kantharawichai.
Hosted by Anusith Sangnimnuan and Mister International 2023 Kim Thitisan Goodburn, the coronation ceremony was held in Maha Sarakham on November 26, 2023. Jason Dylan Bretfelean, 19, of India won the title.
Runner-up to Bretfelean was Oliver Cheung Chi Jie, 27, of Hong Kong. Flores was second runner-up.
It was the ninth edition of the international male beauty pageant based in Bangkok, Thailand. The panel of judges had 33 members including Mister Global 2019 Kim Jong Woo and Mister Global 2022 Juan Carlos Ariosa.
Kim is the first Mister Global from South Korea while Ariosa is the first Cuban to win the title. Their fellow judges were Alexander Vonsensey, Amornrat Jamnongnit, Atchareeya Phibansing, Athiwat Chaturawong, Chamnan Para, Chanat Kansut, Jiradech Netawong, Khana Kityadhiguna, Kitmongkon Pongjan, Lakkhana Methanithikun, Natthanun Songprasert, Pannisa Janloon, Patima Laochai, Patthamaporn Chaiyana, Paweena Nartasilpa, Risra Siripromchot, Ratchanee Phromphaeng, Ratchanee Voracharttrakul, Sirichai Siripai, Sooknakamol Sookhath, Suchar Sarachan, Sudarat Waewbundit, Suphachada Aphiadulwas, Thanawat Bunsom, Theppawan Maprasert, Thinacha Sukkavee, Thongpan Ruangrit, Umarin Lertsathasatha, Visanu Aphaisean, Wiwat Chaochai and Yukol Siriphayak.
This is the second time Chile reached the Top 5 of Mister Global. Representing the South American country, Fabián Esteban Abello was fourth runner-up to Mister Global 2017 Pedro Gicca of Brazil.
