Former security guard Lee Lor, 38, is accused of threatening to commit a mass shooting at Shoal Creek Elementary School in Carmel Mountain Ranch, San Diego, San Diego County, California, United States. On December 1, 2023, he allegedly sent an email to the school, threatening to shoot it up.
Shortly after sending the email, Lor was arrested by San Diego Police Department officers in Carlsbad, San Diego County. The address he gave authorities is near the school.
Lor’s residence has yet to be confirmed. He used to live in Linda Vista, San Diego where his mother still lives.
When a San Diego Police Department officer interviewed Lor, he told the officer that he wanted to shoot up the school because “it is where the neighbor kids attend school”. Shortly after he emailed the school, its principal emailed the parents and guardians of its students, informing them of a potential threat to the school.
On December 5, 2023, Lor was arraigned in San Diego Superior Court in San Diego. The court issued a gun violence restraining order, which prohibits him from possessing or purchasing firearms, a criminal protective order for Shoal Creek Elementary School.
On December 8, 2023, Lor will attend a bail review hearing. He is currently behind held without bail and was charged with one felony count of making criminal threats.
