Herman Lee Hobbs, 77, of California, United States is 6’5″ tall. He weighs around 215 pounds.
Hobbs is accused of killing Terri Maree Pata, Brenda Ann Tucker and Holly Ann Campiglia.
Terri Maree Pata
Born in California, Pata was a student at Rio Linda Junior High School in Rio Linda, Sacramento County, California. On January 30, 1975, Hobbs allegedly raped her in Rio Linda.
Hobbs allegedly cut Pata’s throat and stabbed her at least 27 times. She died. She was 13.
In February 2005, Hobbs pleaded no contest to raping and murdering Pata.
Brenda Ann Tucker
Tucker was 29 when she went missing from her residence in Oroville, Butte County, California in 1994. Hobbs knew her family.
In 2001, loggers found Tucker’s skull with a bullet hole in it. That year, Hobbs was charged with her murder. In 2002, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence.
Holly Ann Campiglia
Born in Cherry Hill, Bergen County, New Jersey, USA to Augustine A. Campiglia and Sally Avery Campiglia, Holly entered Glassboro State College in Glassboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey in 1977 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. That year, she ran away from home.
Holly was 5’2″ tall and she weighed around 115 pounds.
On August 3, 1980, two field workers found Holly’s lifeless body in a cornfield on Sievers Road in Dixon, Solano County, California. She was not identified until June 19, 1992. In 2021, her family asked the Solano County Sheriff’s Office to take another look at her murder.
When Holly was found dead, she was wearing a white metal spoon ring on the left ring finger, a choker-type wood bead necklace, a green long-sleeved button-style woolen sweater and a light blue long-sleeved smock with a small white floral design. The smock had wooden buttons on the sleeves with those on the top portion broken and secured with a safety pin.
Holly’s hairstyle was described as punk rock style. There were multiple gunshots in her head and neck.
Herman Lee Hobbs
In 2000, Hobbs allegedly raped a girl, then 15, of Yuba County, California. He was sentenced to 25 years to life for this crime. In 2005, he was sentenced to additional 25 years to life for the death of Plata.
On February 27, 2023, the arrest of Hobbs was announced. He was taken into custody in connection with the death of Campiglia.
Hobbs is being held without bail in Solano County Jail on the charges and on a state prison hold. On December 18, 2023, he appeared in Department 15 of the Solano County Superior Court in Fairfield, Solano County to schedule the hearing.
Judge Robert Bowers set a readiness conference for 9:00 a.m. on July 8, 2024. He ordered Hobbs to return for it at 9:00 a.m. on July 10, 2024 in the Justice Building in Vallejo, Solano County.
